Weight Update

Well, I had a surprising moment on the scale today...I've lost a few more pounds! That brings my total loss to 8 lbs! YEAH! I really do get a boost of confidence when I see that I've lost a little weight and I'm reminded that I CAN DO THIS! Sometimes I just want to say, what the hell...go ahead and eat 4 pieces of pizza...your family loves you no matter what, right??? But then I remember that its about me and how I feel about myself...and I don't want to be content with this "extra cusioning". As far as the exercising is going, I'm trying very hard to be able to run 1 mile...that may seem sad, since so many poeple can just run 5 miles like its nothing, but its hard for me...i think its part physical and part mental. So, i'm on my way...i'm definately getting close...i think i can do about 3/4 so i'm almost there.

Anyway, I want to say to all of those out there who are also trying to lose weight...YOU CAN DO IT!

Like father, like son

Don't really have to say much about this...we can guess who he gets this from!!

My other children

Just in case you have been wondering what my "other" children have been up to...

SNOW in MISSISSIPPI!!!!

For the first time in 7 years, it SNOWED in Mississippi!! Crazy!! Of course we took Whit outside so he could see it. Buddy gave him a snow ball (or I should say an iceball, rather) and he mainly just wanted to eat it. We made a circle in the street and then headed back inside...it was COLD! While Whit and I played inside, Buddy was making plans for the worst...getting gas, water, and other necessities in case we were iced in. He also got the generator out and ready to go. My man is prepared for sure!

The fun times of Whit Turpin

Looking for a toy under the chair
My Aunt Sarah helping out with bath time
Getting my books out of my backpack
Playing in the diaper box
This isn't lipstick, I promise...its from a yummy smoothie!

Preparing for the Big Day

On your mark, get set, EAT CAKE!! Whit's getting ready for the big day...he loves my little mini-cup cakes with creme filling (minus the frosting...he doesn't need THAT much sugar!). Don't worry, they are the 100 calorie packs, so they are WW's friendly.

Big Bump

Anyone notice the nice protrustion coming out of Whit's head?!?! Yes, he's such a BOY!! It has gone done now (this happened on Thursday of last week!) But its still kinda bruised! anyway, thought Amber should see what she's headed for!

Bye Bye Baby Weight

WELL, I think I'm on my way to saying bye bye to some of this baby weight!! I've been counting points (Weight Watchers) for one week now and today I weighed myself at the YMCA and I've lost 4 pounds!! Woo-hoo!!! That really gets me excited and truly committed to losing this weight. I'm just not myself and I want to be comfortable again. Anyway, what a way to start my weekend!! Yeah!

Fun slide

First we tried out the slide together...it was obvious that it wasn't for adults b/c it has two little dips and each time, my feet slowed us down! But it was fun to slide with my Whit-man.
Whit coming down the slide on his own...I think he likes it!!

Play Date

Yesterday we had a play date with Amber, Harper, Bryce, Ella, Christine & Maggie. We had a great time playing and then took a trip to the park!

Here is Whit checking out Harper's ear (or hair, not sure which)
Harper was checking out Sam on the back porch...isn't she a cutie!
Ella, Whit, Maggie, Harper
I thought this was precious...Whit had his little hand on Maggie's leg! Already a lady killer.
Amber & Harper went down the big yellow slide! (ps...this was Harper's first trip to a park & many other firsts...slide, playing in dirt, swing, etc!)

Mojo Busted

First I have to tell you that "clean sheet night" is my FAVORITE!! I absolutely love crawling into a bed of freshly laundered linens...no dog hair or dog dirt. So, on Monday I had all my bedding washed and ready to go back on the bed but first I was waiting to put a new matress pad on the matress (thanks mom! its the softest mattress pad EVER!). I came into the room and found this....Mojo enjoying my clean sheets before I could!!!! He's such a mess...he jumps on the end of the bed every night. Does he look like he's in heaven, or what!

Whit & Ryals finally meet

These were from New Years Eve day...I just downloaded pictures from the last two weeks! Madelyn, Ryals & Thomas were in Madison so I took Whit out there to finally meet him! Ryals is so precious...a beautiful combination of mom and dad!

New Years Resolutions

Okay, so in response to my friend Amber's question of our new years resolutions, here goes......I too am working on my environmental awareness. I have already started recycling as much as I possibly can...putting more in the recycle bucket than the trash can, it seems. I started working really hard on this a few months ago. The only problem is that sometimes Buddy will put the bag in with the trash! AHH! but he's learning. I'm also taking glass to the Rainbow Co-op for recycling...they won't take glass with the other. So, I'm going to continue that effort. I also have a water bottle that I take with me to work out and i'm trying to use that instead of bottled water. I think that if more people looked at what they throw out that can actually be recycled, they would be surprised at how much less trash they would have. Anyway, yeah GREEN!!
As for my other resolution....BIG SHOCKER....getting this baby weight off!!! So it didn't just fall off after Whit's arrival and now it seems to be stuck on me!! I'm already working out on a pretty regular basis...well, i need to be working out more. The holidays and sickness have gotten me these last few weeks. But, I'm very dedicated to the working out part...its the food part I have trouble with! I started counting my points this past Friday. I haven't decided if I want to do WW online or the meetings...I think online would be nice b/c of all the recipes and blogs and such, but the meetings definately make you accountable....getting on a scale in front of someone else! So there it is...my big resolutions for the year. They don't sound so exciting since about half the world have the same ones! But they are still important to me...for me and for my family...I want Whit to have a beautiful world to live in when he's older. Okay, I'll stop now before it gets too mushy.

Busted

The other day I busted Whit getting into the drawer of his changing table that had paper towels and some clorox spray in it!!! He had torn a bunch of paper towels off and unrolled a lot of it...he also was exploring the clorox bottle! AGH! I've since found a better spot for those items!

He also likes the suntan oil and sunblock that is in my bottom drawer in the bathroom (along with other female products!!) but he mainly just carries it around the house so i don't stop him!

Headed to the park

Whit had his first guest rider in his new wagon last saturday...his buddy Aiden!! we went to Laurel Park, where the Duncans were also playing, and had a great afternoon!

fun at the park

I just love this hat...a great hand-me-down from the Counce boys
