another day in paradise...

Buddy and I were texting each other this morning and I commented on how crazy a morning we had...things like the pest control guy showing up at 7:30 when we are trying to get ready for the day and spewing coffee everywhere when it is too hot. he commented back "another day in paradise". This got me thinking about how the routine things in life can be paradise! i feel very blessed in my life...i have a wonderful husband and precious child and they make me smile everyday! some of the "routine" things in life that i enjoy...
-asking whit what he wants for breakfast and waiting for his response..."ummmmm, WAFFLES!"
-trying new recipes
-going to the park whenever its pretty outside
-believe it or not, i really enjoy getting up early to go to the gym...i NEVER thought i would be one to do this, but because i go with other people, its a lot easier to get out of bed and go work out!
-tickling whit and making him giggle like crazy!
-clean sheet night (who doesn't like freshly laundered sheets??)
-celebrating life's blessings with the people i love...births, birthdays, weddings or just dinner for no reason other than to hang out with each other!
-giving lessons in Catechesis (when we have children there, which has been not much recently)
-organizing my house, something that i do all the time, yet it never seems to be complete!
-reading a good book
I might not live in the kind of "paradise" with mansions and fancy cars, but I think my life is pretty good! And when life isn't fun I'm thankful for those around me that lift me up. Well, those are just some thoughts today...what routine things in your life makes it feel like you live in "paradise"??

Whit's 1st Big Boy Haircut!

Whit had his first real haircut last Friday. I've always just trimmed it and Buddy has told me I am no good at it and that we need to take him for a real haircut. It was WAY overdue!

playing with the hair clips and watching soap operas kept Whit occupied while she cut his hair

I know its been a while...

Yes, I know its been a while since i've updated. The holidays just took control and I didn't even download pictures until today. So, now you can see some of what we've been up to since November. Whit had a great time this year on Christmas...he loved that he got lots of presents and that Santa and Nana brought him everything he wanted...as in a train table and a dragon castle!
It was a hard holiday for me, the first without Dad. I miss him terribly and wish he was here to play Santa for Whit. I'm so very thankful that we are a close family and we all live close to each other. Mom spent the night with Sarah and Nate, just a few streets over from us, and came over on Christmas morning to do presents. We then went down to Brookhaven to see Buddy's family and then headed back to Mom's for more presents! It was a fun day but there's no denying that it was different without Dad being there.
So, 2009 has been a rough year. I am so very blessed to have a wonderful husband and child and a loving sister and brother-in-law and the best Mom on Earth! There's no way I could have made it through this year if not for them. And I couldn't ask for better friends...What a blessing to have such great ladies in my life. I'm thankful that I'm surrounded by people who love me and support me in so many ways.
As 2010 gets underway, I pray for a year filled with joy, laughter and fun! Disney World and NYC trips, new babies (not me as far as i know at this moment, but who knows!!) and weddings to celebrate and of course, all of the fun things in life...birthday parties, Cazuela nights, play dates, many many hours at the park, CBG and swimming lessons....i could go on and on, but I'll wind this up! I'm looking forward to a new year and a new decade...I will even be facing that big birthday later this year...the BIG 3-0! I say, bring it!!

Gooooooo COWBOYS!!!

Buddy was surely in high heaven this past Sunday as we rooted on the Cowboys for a win and to become NFC East Division Champions...he even managed to be in line at the pro-shop as the championship hats and shirts were brought in and got one for all of us.

me and Buddy after the game...it was COLD!!

Teddy celebrating the Cowboys win!
Karen and I have no option but to just love the Cowboys and go all out! Her cup even lights up!

That jumbo video board is so huge i can't even begin to describe it! We were so high up that the football players looked like little mini people...it was great to watch the game on that big screen but it was also cool to look down and see the whole game in action!

Buddy & John

I managed to catch one shot of Coach Wade Phillips! I tried to get a shot of Romo but never could.

COTTON BOWL!!

Since we were already planning a trip to see the Cowboys play on Jan. 3rd and the Rebels got in the Cotton Bowl, we got tickets and just made it a full out football trip!

Arriving for the first time at Cowboys Stadium...as you can see, Buddy wore his Cowboys pullover...he had on a Rebels shirt underneath, but he had to show his love for the Cowboys!

Whit & Emily

We carpool with some friends who live one street over and Whit & Emily have become best buddies! Here are some pictures of them over the last month!

At the Old Fashioned Christmas in Canton (with Aunt SaSa and Kimberly, Emily's mom)
Riding on the cars in Canton (don't know the other older girl...she was not really happy about riding with the "little kids"!)

Playing dress up....Emily as a knight and Whit as a Red Dragon Warrior! Thanks to Aunt SaSa for giving Whit some fun dress-up clothes for Christmas...now he can play "dress-up" like he does as all of his little girl friend's houses without tutu's and high heels!

Gingerbread Train

Whit had some friends over to help him decorate his gingerbread train...they had more fun eating the candy than using it to decorate the train...which was fine, b/c the train didn't last long!
