FUNNY!!

I finally have figured out how to download a video...actually its not hard, i just never haven taken the time to do it. Anyway, here is a video of Whit, Aiden & Greame playing with some balloons at Aiden's party...they are the kind with a big rubber band type handle and the kids LOVED them.

Whit's check-up

Whit had a great check up yesterday...27 lbs 14 ozs, 33 inches. His doctor said he is right where he should be and his activity and language is normal. He's a very busy little boy and he's curious about everything...figuring out how things work, looking at and "reading" books and mimicking SO much of what Buddy & I are doing. For example, he loves to stand on his step stool in the bathroom and brush his teeth at the same time I am...he puts the toothbrush under the water, spits and taps the toothbrush on the sink!! He also likes to get q-tips and try to stick them in his ears!! We've moved those out of reach, so don't worry, no ER visits b/c of q-tips!

Tomorrow Whit goes to his 18 month appointment (even though he'll be 19 months in less than a week!) His doctor couldn't get him in any sooner b/c of all the school aged children who had to have shots in order to start kindegarten. Anyway, I'm interested to see what she says...Whit really has started saying more words and trying to say more than i think we actually understand.....some of the things he says....dank do (thank you) lease (please) cacker (cracker) nack (snack) juice, mil (milk) mommy, daddy, nana, pa (pops) and lots more! he knows all of his face parts and even knows where his elbows and knees are (he can say knees!). I must admit that I was getting nervous for a while b/c i just didn't think he was talking enough...but around 17 1/2 to 18 months, it started to change. I can't remember if he gets shots at the 18 month check-up...I sure hope he doesn't, they aren't any fun. I'll report back on that later.

In other news, we had a great time at the Belhaven Market last Saturday and will be returning this saturday. Then on Sept. 6, we plan to be at the Clinton Market...(once i convince buddy) and who knows, maybe even WellsFest. I think I will be staying VERY BUSY this fall! I'm looking forward to it, though. Whit will start going to Northminister 3 days a week (MWF) instead of just 2....so i should have enough time to do the following....do Bovina's payroll, keep up with KnitWhits, mentor a child at Casey Elementary, clean the house, do laundry, grocery shop, cook, take care of 3 dogs and 1 cat, continue training and starting the Catechesis of the Good Shephard at church, etc, etc, etc. Oh, and work out...that is important!! I'm just glad i'll stay busy!!

Aiden's Birthday Party

I'm finally getting pictures from Aiden's party posted...here are the best pics...

Aiden' blowing out his cupcake candle.
Whit coming down the slide
Aiden on his new digger...i call it a digger but i'm sure buddy would know its real name
The boys LOVED riding on the digger and helping push it around the yard.
After a fun afternoon of cupcakes and water activities, they took a break and watched The Incredibles (well, sort of)

Whit & Harper

I absolutely LOVE this picture!! I stole it off of Amber's blog (hope you don't mind amber). She took this last week while they were over for a play date...it is SO hard to get good pictures of them together these days...getting them to both look at the camera at the same time is getting tough!

Aiden's Birthday party

I have TONS of pictures from Aiden's birthday party but i think i will have to wait until tomorrow to post them. I spent all day tie-dying and haven't done my payroll! So I'll have to do that while I watch the Olympics tonight. Whit had a great time celebrating Aiden's 2nd birthday...they had really fun balloons (i'll try to post a video of the guys with the balloons...it is FUNNY!) pools with slides, bubble grills, tractors and CUPCAKES!! It was a fun and tiring day. But a wonderful day for our godson!! We love you Aiden!!

dressed for church

Here's Whit in his church outfit...Thanks to Nana for getting it for him!! I thought it would be for next year, but with the little white shirt underneath, it didn't look too big for him...i thought it was cute paired with his red keds!! (Aunt Sa did make fun of him just a little bit for looking kind of "cheesey")

BUSY BUSY WEEKEND!!

I have my 10 year class reunion this weekend!! Wow! I can't believe its been 10 years since i was in high school...i do feel like i've done a lot in those last 10 years...college for 4 years, working at working solutions for 4 years, getting married, buying a house, having a baby, being a work-from-home mom! Tonight is the class members social at The Bulldog...I can't stay long there b/c tomorrow I have a Catechesis training class from 8-5 and i'll actually miss a little of it to attend the reunion picnic. That will be fun b/c we'll bring Whit and get to see everyone's children! Then tomorrow night is the cocktail party at The Capitol Club...Buddy and I are looking forward to going out, a little dancing and socializing!! Sarah & Nate are keeping Whit and taking him out on the town too! Bright Lights, Belhaven Nights is saturday night and they are taking him to it. The weekend doesn't slow down on Sunday...here is what i think the day will look like....meeting at church, church, get whit down for a nap, help kathryn get ready for aiden's birthday party, the birthday party, sugar induced mania, dinner, bath, bed!!! Then its Monday again and I have about 35 pieces of clothing to tie-dye while Whit will be at Mothers Morning Out! Hope everyone out there has a great weekend!

Fun in the water at Lawson's party

Jude and Whit playing with the water hose at Lawson's 1st birthday party

...after he got all wet!!

Day at the Zoo

Buddy & I took Whit to the zoo on Saturday morning and we had such a good time...it was nice for the 3 of us to spend some time together! Whit really loved the animals and talked to them and was the most excited he's ever been about seeing them.
The giraffes are the first animals we saw and he just kept saying "wow" over and over again!
We ran into our friends Kristie, Harry and Summer Day. Summer is going to be a big sister soon...a little brother is on the way!)
Whit is making the sign for Elephant
He also loved the zebras and kept climbing on the rail to see them better.

Elephant slide

WHEEEEE....

Worn out!

working the sound booth

Barbara & I went to Martins last Friday night to see some friends play...their band is called Passenger Jones and they are so talented! Here we are pretending to work the sound booth. (our friend Nat runs it)
Barbara, Nat and me

Watching Nemo

Whit's absolute favorite thing to do these days is watch Finding Nemo. He asks for Nemo when he wakes up, while we're playing, during breakfast, in the car, during dinner, and just about any other time of the day! He actually watches it too!! Of course he'll find a toy or something else to play with, but he stays in the living room and watches the movie. We're working on some new movies like the Lion King and Cars and he'll watch them, but he will ask for Nemo during those movies!!

TIE-DYE

Here are the shirts I tie-dyed at camp...I'm working on starting up my own little side business of tie-dying kids clothes...SO, all you parents out there...would you purchase some cool tie-dye for your little ones?? Any suggestions or ideas?? Any advice or suggestion is welcome!! And FYI, I do plan on doing onsies, burb cloths, rompers, etc.
