We are excited to announce that we are having a BABY GIRL!! Whit is excited about his baby sister and I'm also starting to finally feel her move around which is exciting. No names have been decided yet except Whit has nicknamed her Baby Turtle?!?! I'm thinking about ways to change up the nursery to make it a girls room...I will use the rocker which is a green toile pattern and I'm thinking about adding pink and orange along with brown. So, its been fun to start shopping for baby girl clothes...of course mom and I have already hit lots of sales for next spring/summer! Good thing I'm going back to work, I will need some way to support my shopping habit!
In other news:
Whit has become a little fish this summer thanks to the work of Ms. Lu Lee in Madison...I swear she is the baby whisperer of swimming!! Whit is now all over the pool, diving for toys, swimming with his face in the water, jumping in from the side (all of which he wasn't doing before the lessons) Sarah and I took Whit to the pool yesterday where Whit had a ball diving for his toys. I knew he loved the water he just needed someone like Ms. Lu to get him to do it!
Buddy and Corey are working on our bathroom today, which makes me SUPER HAPPY!! We've lived with only one bathroom for a long time now and I'm really ready to have the bathroom connected to our bedroom in working order (especially when you are pregnant and up throughout the night!!) He has promised it will be done by the time the baby gets here and I feel sure it will be...nothing like a new baby to get a bunch of house work done!!
That's all the news for now...keep cool this summer!

Pictures
So while Whit and Buddy have been playing our new Toy Story Wii game, I downloaded a bunch of new pictures. Mostly from camp but also a few birthdays. Happy Summer Ya'll!!
Birthdays
Buddy lost the bet
So Buddy lost a bet at camp and the price was that he had to have a fleur de lis shaved into his hair...he did it but said there weren't any restrictions on having his own symbol (dallas cowboys star) shaved too so he had them both done...the next day he shaved his hair down even more and they were both gone...i guess it makes for a nice summer haircut for him!

Whit the Tree Climber
So, I never expected to see Whit do the high elements at the ropes course this summer, but he said he wanted to do it and I said ok! Of course, since I worked the ropes course when I was on permanent staff, I was kinda excited about him doing it! I did get nervous that he was freak out and stall and then back up the activity period, but he didn't! I think he didn't know to be afraid. I was ok with everything until he got to the last platform where you ride the zip line. For some reason, I got panicky...but i kept it to myself mostly and he did amazing! He said "i want to do that again!" which was his line after every ride at Disney!! So, here is his trip through the high elements at Ropes!

Summer is flying by...
So, since we've been back from Disney we've been VERY busy...We spent a week at Camp Bratton-Green, one of our favorite summertime activities! Whit was easier this year and really enjoyed it. He even did the high elements at the ropes course which made us very nervous but also very proud (since Buddy and I both worked ropes at CBG) We also celebrated the 4th of July at a MS Braves game, attended St. Alexis/St. Marks VBS (I prepared food and Whit enjoyed his first VBS), started swim lessons with Lu Lee, Whit attended St. Andrews VBS and of course there are just the routine things of life! I'm feeling pretty good these days, no more sickness so I'm pretty thankful for that. We find out on Tuesday what Baby Turpin #2 is so we are really excited about that! Whit still seems to say he wants a baby girl mostly and he wants to name it "Baby"...pretty sure he won't get to decide!
Other happenings in the Turpin life include saying bye to some wonderful friends who are moving to Oxford....but thankfully Oxford isn't too far away and we hope to visit the Gray's for football season!! I enjoyed a nice girls lunch with Amber to wish her an early happy birthday and to wish her well as they head to Oxford.
Aunt SaSa and Uncle Nate left today on their 3rd anniversary trip to Tennessee and North Carolina. They have a fun trip planned that includes fancy restaurants, rafting the Occoee, camping for 2 nights, staying with family in Asheville, NC and lastly visiting a cousin in Atlanta. Sarah really had to plan out her packing for this trip! Now I'm ready for a trip to the mountains!
Nana got home from her visit to North Carolina and we've gotten to spend some time with her. We look forward to next week when we plan to hang out more! Whit is also ready to show off his new swimming skills to Nana.
We celebrated Buddy's 42nd birthday with a few friends and family. Grilling out, playing Wii games, pretty laid back but nice to see friends.
I'm starting a job at St. James Preschool in August and have some training dates coming up. I'm excited to be the Enrichment Teacher and looking forward to this new adventure! They are a wonderful group of people and so thankful for how well it will work out with this baby on the way. I will get to bring the baby with me after I've had my maternity leave, which will be 8 weeks. So it works out really well! Whit will start McWillie Montessori in August and it will be a big change as well. Since he's going to an elementary school, he will be on their schedule which starts at 7:30 and goes to 2:20! The afternoon isn't the bad part, its getting him there so early in the morning! We are used to getting to preschool at 9am! So, I guess that will be a new challenge for us.
So, that is a little of what's been going on and what's to come. I've been bad about taking pictures lately so sorry there aren't any to post. I think I took some at camp and if i can find my camera I will try to upload some of those pictures!
