Sweet Sadie is here! Amber doesn't think she looks much like Harper did right after she was born....I don't think she did either! But she is BEAUTIFUL and she and Amber were doing great! What a wonderful blessing for the Gray family...I know they have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!!

Sadie Alan Gray is here!

My good friend Amber Gray had baby #2 this morning!! Sadie Alan Gray weighed in at 7 lbs and 20 inches. Buddy and I are going to go see them in just a little while...he's off work for the whole week. I will take some pictures and post them this afternoon!! Congrats to the Gray family on becoming a family of 4!! Sweet Harper is now a big sister!!

Birthday Dinner Celebration

We went to dinner with some friends at Pan Asia Saturday night to celebrate my birthday (which is actually today!) It was fun times!! Thanks to my wonderful sister who put it together AND who got me my first IPOD!! Its the basic shuffle to get me started...i'm downloading music right now!!

Homemade Edible Play Doh

I thought it would be fun to try and make some edible play doh for Whit....the powdered milk made it a little grainy but its definately edible!!

Whit's Big News!!

WHIT TEE-TEED IN THE POTTY!! Actually he's done it FOUR times now!! He did it the first time on Friday...before his bath we put him on the little potty but he said no and got up. So we put him on the big toilet and he actually tee-teed. It was just a little that time as well as on Saturday morning and night. Then, tonight, before his bath I put him on the big toilet again and he REALLY tee-teed!! (i hope this isn't too much info for you!) Anyway, I've just been totally shocked that he's done it several times. He's watched Elmo's Potty Time video dozens of times and we do talk to him about the potty just to get him used to it. I don't know if he'll keep this up or decide he's not really ready to do the whole potty thing and either way is fine. But I thought it was worthy of posting!!

Teach Your Tot theme of the week: BALLS!!

This morning we gathered all of the balls we could find and took them out into the front yard to play...Whit didn't want them in the laundry basket so he took them all out and threw them around. We counted them (he just says "two") and played catch.

Another Teach Your Tot activity...making balls out of play-doh. Whit loved it when I showed him how he could press the ball down and make it flat...he kept handing me the play-doh to make it into a ball and then he would smush it!

Teach Your Tot

Teach Your Tot is a weekly email that my friend Amber told me about. A friend of hers created it to give parents ideas and activities to do with your "tot" and there is a new theme each week. She was an elementary school teacher before becoming a stay at home mom so she had a background in education which really shows in her emails! I have loved them so far....we have gotten ideas for games, songs and art activities. We have made leaf collages, a Halloween collage, painted a pumpkin and today we made balls out of play-doh. I like that you are given lots of ideas and you just do what works for you! Obviously some activities are better for older children and some for younger children. Its been great for the days that Whit doesn't go to mothers morning out!

Zoo Visit

Whit & I met Joy, Maren and Lawson at the zoo yesterday afternoon...it was a beautiful warm day so we thought it would be fun to let the kids run around and expel some energy...and we were just about the only people there so we really did let them run around!!

Buddy and I went to vote this morning before he headed off to work. We thought it would be a good thing to start teaching Whit very early about the importance of voting! He got a sticker and said "vote"! Have you voted yet today??

Sarah & I, along with Nate & Buddy, put together a little hayride through Belhaven for our friends for Halloween. Since some of our kiddos are too young to do the whole trick-or-treating thing, this was a fun alternative. Here are some photos from the night.
