Well, it seems that I just don't have as much time on the computer as I used to! I've been working at Nandy's Candy on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays while Whit is at mothers morning out. This is a busy time for them with Valentines and Easter coming up so I've been helping them out. I'm also going to start working at an office part-time after Valentine's. It seems to fit perfect with my hours and schedule. I'll work there from 9-2 starting out one day a week then building up to three. Its been fun to be at Nandy's and working around fun people! Not to mention all the chocolate that surrounds me! I'll admit I've tried a few things, but I never have more than one or two samples. Its all about self-control.

This weekend is sure to be a busy one. We have Andi Goodwill's 1st Birthday party on Saturday. Then on Sunday we have church, Whit's 2nd Birthday party and a Super Bowl party at church! BUSY BUSY day!
I have lots of thoughts and reflections regarding Whit's 2nd birthday but that will have to wait...its 9am and I have to take WHit to MMO and then head to Nandy's...SO, happy friday to you!

OH, and one more thing...I'm starting an Etsy store for KnitWhits...I only have one outfit posted so far (see, not time!!) But i'm going to get some more posted this weekend. Check it out...

Here are just some random photos of Whit from the last week or so...I've been pretty bad lately about taking pictures. Whit was trying on Buddy's new work hat and he was in his pj's so its a pretty funny outfit he's got on. and of course, he has his paci, Eeoyre and his milk right beside him b/c its almost bedtime.

Father/Son Jam session

and i'm not sure why he doesn't have his pants on...its likely that its almost bathtime and i just didn't feel like putting his pants back on after changing his diaper...who knows!!??

Busy MLK Day

I've had a busy busy morning so far...vacuuming, laundry, dishes, KnitWhits order and payroll! AND we had some visitors stop by to see Whit...Mamie, Camille and Katie were next door and came by to say hello...Katie and Camille love Whit and are so sweet to him...they will be great big sisters to CJ, who is due in 3 weeks!! Aunt Sa also stopped by...she was riding her bike and saw us outside...this is why I LOVE Belhaven...it is such a wonderful neighborhood. Whit is now asleep and I'm trying to get caught up on some stuff before he wakes up. I'm thinking we will head to the Museum of Natural Science when he gets up to meet some friends...its pretty windy out there and it may be a bit too cold for the park. So, Happy MLK to all...if you are off work I hope you are enjoying that extra long weekend...if not, Happy Monday anyway!

Oh, and I'm super excited about the Inauguration tomorrow. I think Whit and I are going over to Serenity's house to watch it. She and her boss are going to be there along with a few other folks, so I think we'll celebrate along with them. Every time I watch the events leading up to tomorrow, I am filled with a sense of hope...I know that may sound cliche, but really, I'm hopeful for this country...I'm hopeful that Whit will grow up in a society that is not racially divided...I'm hopeful that we can nurture our environment the way we were intended to...I'm hopeful that our country is changing for the better. So, tomorrow Whit and I will be celebrating as history is made!

Catechesis update

We have had a great year so far in Catechesis (our church's version of Sunday School). Of course, with it being our first year and having a small amount of kids, we've had some ups and downs. I've worked VERY hard on preparing materials, getting furniture and materials made and purchasing things such as baskets, containers, organizers, etc for the atrium (the atrium is the room in which we have Catechesis. This past Sunday we had 5 kids there and what was amazing is that a girl who is way older than the age range just wanted to be a helper, so I had her cut out some materials for me. But she overheard me give Eva a lesson...when we were done and she was done with the cutting, she said she wanted to do some of the things in the room...she loved it and excitedly told her mom that she and her brother wanted to come back to morning church...their mom told me later that the have NEVER come out of a "sunday school" and WANTED to go back!!

3rd spin class...and last individual post about spin!

yes, i won't bore you anymore with a post after each time i go to a spin class, but i just have to say that i've made it over that hurdle. i went this morning and it was not NEARLY as painful on my rear end as the 2nd class was (TMI?? sorry!) that second class is definately the hardest one to get through. so, thanks to all of you for your words of encouragement...a big thanks to sarah and amber who have told me that YES I COULD DO THIS! and listen, if the people in that class can do it ANYONE can do it!! so, if you need to reach me on tuesday or thursday mornings at 8:30, i'll be at the Y sweating and panting!!

2nd spin class

So, I made it through my second spin class this morning! It was tough b/c I was SORE and I stayed up a little later than usual last night (and had some wine which didn't help!). BUT, I sweated my way through it. Now I just need to get through ONE more class and I should be over the toughest part about starting the class.

HAPPY 2009!

So, as I stated in my last post, I am going to start doing spin class...and i did my first one TODAY! The gel seat helped...Although in a few hours I might start to feel the real effects of the class! I felt like I did a good job for my first class...I couldn't do all the sprints and stuff that they did but I did sweat so i say it was a success!
